The purpose of the Declaration of Dependence is two-fold:

For the family:  You can use this as your opportunity to take a stand for Jesus in a nation which has, in a major way, abandoned Him.  The following steps should be taken:

1.  Read the document carefully, recognizing that the wording is intended to mirror the original Declaration of Independence, as closely as possible, both grammatically and artistically, with one major exception: instead of the enemy being the King of England, it is Satan, the true enemy of the body of Christ in America.. 

2.  Have each member of the family commit themselves to the principle of total dependence upon God.  Publicly state to each other and to God that that you are aware of His sovereignty and that only with His protection and blessings, there is hope.

3.  Have each member sign their names at the bottom of the document, as the founding fathers did, making a covenant with the Lord, a contract if you will, that for your part you will depend upon Him in every aspect of your family life, AND, committing your family to the principles of II Chronicles 7:14, as indicated on the last line of the Declaration.

4.  Finally, display the Declaration in a prominent place in your home, as a constant reminder of your covenant and of your responsibility to pray every day for His assistance in humbling yourselves, praying, seeking His face, and turning from your wicked ways.  Then, watch God work mightily in your family for healing in every facet of your lives and, even more importantly,  for spiritual renewal.

Secondly, the above steps also apply to a local church.  In this case the leaders would sign the document, adhering to the same covenant responsibilities already stated.  As long as we are able to, we will provide an unsigned copy to any church wishing itself to be designated as a "II Chronicles 7:14 Church" so that its leaders and membership may sign it and display it as above.  If you wish to invite Paul Parsons to your church for a God in America Again rally as a prelude for your designation, please click here for more information.
