Girls are the Gift

 

Welcome to my corner of the web site.  First, I would like to introduce myself to you.  I am the wife (given and/or gift as Eve was described by Adam) given to Paul Parsons. 

I thought about which morsel to share that was hand fed and sometimes, spoon fed, to me by our wonderful and loving heavenly Father.  This particular sharing of my morsel is for the Ladies.  Sorry guys, it won’t always be this way.  However, you may want to stick around and check out how the gift of the Lady God gave you is such a powerful one. 

As I inquired with the Lord about what I possibly have to offer others it came to me, what about the things the Holy Spirit showed me?  One of the most loving insights was how I was a gift.  Okay, now I am looking behind me to make sure I am alone in the room and thinking “You talking to me?” 

I sure didn’t feel like a “gift” (I am sure I am not the only one.)  So, now I want to know, how so, Lord? 

Repeatedly, I have heard that part of the Bible with Adam’s words to the Lord (after biting down into what he himself found desirable) was "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate." (Gen 3:12 NKJV).  I want to point out the morsel of this line “The woman whom YOU GAVE to be with ME.” 

Whoa, there it is!!!  I am a gift.  So, now this is where I got stuck and had to ask the Lord for some insight.  ‘Cause I don’t see it in me at all.   Girls, grab your coffee and let’s chat.  I’ll go first by telling you a bit about me and how that baby girl was born that one special day, way back when (forget it, I ain’t gonna tell ya how old I am J.)  I am sticking to the anniversaries of my 29th birthday…okay, 39th.

My character (meaning me not my husband, sorry Honey, it was too good to pass up) is one that was developed by being raised, starting at the age of 9 months, in a home of women for many years, fending for what seemed, themselves and each other.  These women were strong willed, outspoken, bossy (that part hasn’t changed much), self-sufficient, full of stamina, and could take-charge and step up to any challenge.  But, they had to be like that, and I find those qualities are continually being refined and used every day of my life as well. And I am grateful to have been in such an environment.  Okay, the bossy one needed a bit more work. 

Now as you can imagine, this woman (that would be me!) whom God gave my husband is going to either be a thorn in his side (also referred to lovingly in today’s terms as a nag) or one of the best things that could have happened to him.  And in all fairness to the ladies, if he was  listening to the Lord, then he would have the latter.  Because every good and PERFECT gift is from above!  I can back that up with chapter and verse.  If you’re still with me, Fellas, write me if you need me to show you that it IS in the Bible. J

As the Holy Spirit began molding my character (which my husband prays is still a work in progress), I found a whole lot more about who I am (more than I really wanted to know) and that I am someone you would PREFER to have on your side (IF you know what I mean?)  If you men have a woman in your life or ever have, then you know EXACTLY what I mean.   When you look at Genesis 3:1 and how Satan was the most cunning than any beast in the field, you will know that he knew this, and I believe that is why he went to the woman.

Now, I want you ladies to think about this and what your qualities are, as well as those things you think  are your qualities, which others may NOT consider qualities at all.  Then next week, I will continue to share with you how the Holy Spirit is using my characteristics and qualities that make me a gift designed by God Himself to the man I married. 

It is my prayer for you this week that the Holy Spirit unwraps this morsel He has provided JUST FOR YOU.  And Guys, I am hoping that I have grabbed your curiosity just enough to come back and see how God designed the woman in your life the way he did to make a major impact in your life. 

You see, that is what a morsel does, leaving you wanting more.  Until next time, may your eyes and ears be opened to see all the things and blessings God has in store and available right now for you
